Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data YesContext (“we”, “us”) processes when you visit yescontext.com (the “Site”), why, and what rights you have. We keep data collection to a minimum: the Site has no accounts, no comments, no advertising and no analytics or tracking cookies.
Who is responsible

What we process
Server logs
Like every web server, ours records technical details of each request: IP address, date and time, requested page, referring page, browser and device type (user agent) and response status. We use this only to keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and find and fix errors. Logs are rotated daily and deleted after 90 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Content delivery and security (Cloudflare)
The Site is delivered through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security service. Requests to the Site pass through Cloudflare’s network, which processes technical request data such as your IP address in order to speed up delivery and block malicious traffic. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
If you write to an address at yescontext.com, the message is forwarded to our mailbox through Cloudflare Email Routing. We use what you send (your address and the content of your message) only to read and answer it, and we delete it once it is no longer needed for that purpose. Legal basis: your request and our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
What we do not do
- We do not set cookies on visitors’ browsers (see our Cookie Policy).
- We do not use analytics, advertising networks, tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
- We do not offer user accounts, comments, newsletters or payments, so we collect no names or payment details.
- We do not sell personal data.
Fonts, images and external resources
Fonts and images on the Site are served from yescontext.com itself. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts, stock photo sites or social networks when you read an article.
Share buttons and external links
The share buttons under article titles are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from X, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Reddit until you click one, and from then on that service’s own privacy policy applies. The same goes for the source links to organisations such as the World Bank, OECD or Hofstede Insights.
International transfers
Cloudflare and our hosting provider may process data in countries outside your own. Where the law requires it, these providers rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to our processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. Because our logs are not linked to names, we may ask for the approximate time and your IP address to find the relevant entries.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and administration access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit the data we hold so there is little to expose.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the Site handles data, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
